Through My Eyes :

Art for Development

Through My Eyes: Art for Development brings together the work of 24 artists from Ghana, Malawi, and Canada. The diversity of their family backgrounds, professional experiences, the contexts in which they lived, as well as the challenges they faced daily, has brought extra depth to their work.

The strength of this art exhibition lies in the fact that this powerful diversity is united by common values shared by all these artists and a shared vision for sustainable development.

As part of its global development efforts, WUSC created this art exhibition focused on the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs. The exhibition isn’t just about delivering a message, it is about raising awareness in a positive way, shedding light on the global challenges people face and the critical role that individual actions can play.

Art exhibition overview

The full art exhibition (34 pieces of art, including paintings, lithographs, sculptures, and digital works) was launched at the 2024 WUSC International Forum on February 9, 2024, and received acclaim from a public with rich and varied backgrounds. Through My Eyes: Art for Development, with its wide range of pieces, truly connects with a broad audience, whether they are familiar with global development themes or not.

To reach the widest audience possible, this art exhibition is meant to be hosted and shared by any interested organization. None of it would be possible without the incredible support of the Canadian public, who help spread the word about the Sustainable Development Goals. Their involvement not only raises awareness but also fuels the change we need to see, showing just how much power we all have to make a difference.
